All of us here at Ella's Place mourn the passing
of two music world legends:

NAT HENTOFF  And   BUDDY BREGMAN

Nat Hentoff, the legend in music journalism, wrote a wonderful tribute to Ella that appeared in Jazz Times in 2008. I keep a framed copy here at the Foundation office.
Here's the link.

Buddy Bregman's music will live on - he was the arranger and conductor for two of Ella's legendary Verve Songbooks:

Her first:
ELLA FITZGERALD SINGS THE COLE PORTER SONGBOOK
and the ever-popular
ELLA FITZGERALD SINGS THE RODGERS & HART SONGBOOK

May their music be blessings to all.

If you would like to honor these Music Giants, memorial donations to Ella's award-winning book and literacy program
A BOOK JUST FOR ME!
can easily be made by following this link.

It’s time to start planning for
ELLA AT 100:
THE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

which will kick-off on April 25, 2017 and continue until April 25, 2018
(Ella was born on April 25, 1917)

Ful Schedule:

We hope that all of Ella’s fans around the world will do something to celebrate.
Maybe a special concert.
A poetry or essay contest for the kids.
A big old-fashioned sing-along would be fun.
We promise to post about your celebration on Facebook.

We have already heard that the Smithsonian will be celebrating.
Here in L.A., the Grammy Museum is planning to join the fun.

Plus, the Los Angeles Philharmonic wants in.
And our friends at the Jazz Education Network are going to celebrate BIG TIME!

We’d love to hear from YOU. Send us an email and let us know how YOU plan to celebrate.
